A Brief Description about Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt is one of the largest cities in Germany. It is said to be the fifth largest city in the country with approximately 714,241 people living in it. This city also holds a prestige of being one of the largest financial centers in the world. Frankfurt airport is one of the leading international airports in the Frankfurt city. This major airport of Frankfurt covers a huge land of 4,942 acres. The airport has good maintenance facilities, number of runways and prevalent logistics. The airport attracts millions of passengers every year. Hence, Frankfurt airport is classified as the eleventh busiest airport in the world. This airport serves as hub for Lufthansa (one of the largest airlines in Europe), Lufthansa CityLine and cargo, and many more.

Frankfurt airport is located in ‘Frankfurt Rhine-Main’, which is one of the biggest metropolitan cities in Germany. It is situated approximately 12 kilometers from central Frankfurt. The airport is connected through major highways A3 and A5, as it is located at the intersection point of both the highways, which is called as ‘Frankfurter Kreuz’. Hence, one can reach the airport easily by a car or taxi in around 10-15 minutes. There is a good parking facility for the passengers who drive to the airport by car. Moreover, one can park the car in the airport for days and go for an outing. Bus service, is also available to reach the airport.

The airport has many terminals among which terminal 1 and 2 are more significant. The terminal 1 is connected to the city through commuter train. The commuter lines namely, S8 and S9 are connected to the airport. You can also book for Frankfurt airport taxi for save transportation. The railway transport is classified in two stations, regional station and long-distance station. Every 15 minutes, there is a train from airport connecting to Offenbach East Station which is also known as Wiesbaden Central Station, Mainz central station etc. These routes come under regional station. Frankfurt Long-distance was started in the year 1999. The station has a service of more than 210 long distance trains every day. Terminal 1 of the Frankfurt airport is connected to the long-distance terminal and many intercity trains are also available from this station.
